Rainy days ...

With poorer weather recently, we repaired to Piano di Coreglia to visit the stove shop.  Next door there was a small factory continuing the local "figuirino" tradition of making plaster statuettes - usually of a religious sort.  In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, when men from imopoverished families migrated to Germany, Scotland and America to ply their trade, they had to produce secular statues for these non-catholic countries - famous people, dogs and cats, whatever came to mind ...

A rainy outlook ...
Raindrops on berries
Forlorn Marys look for purchasers
