Yesterday walked with Ron and Susie down to Fornacci where cappucino and pastries were had in the wonderful De Servi pasticceria. Walking back by a different route, we found that the CAI (Club Alpino di Italia) had put in an impressive rustic staircase where a bad frana had demolished the previous ladder last year.
Back home, today, two natural history excitements. Coming back from town, Barbara spotted a little hedgehog snuffling around the front steps. Later she also spotted a green woodpecker (not a spotted one, you see) in the next door olive grove. It was rooting vigorously in the banking, and looked great through the binoculars, but the photos - not so good!
