On Monday, we set out with the intention of taking routine afternoon walk into Barga and visiting the duomo. However, on the way, we were tempted by a path that wound down into the valley which lies between La Serra and Barga, which we look across from the house. It has always been rather a mystery to us, as it appears to be mostly private land.
We came across several intriguing tracks, and a small burn at the bottom, which we crossed easily, before ascending to the road linking Barga to Fornace, and so into town. It had been quite an energetic ramble, so we omitted the final climb up to the duomo, and headed straight for home!
