Heading for San Gimignano

San Gimignano is famed for its well-preserved medieval towers which have survived more than in any other Italian town.  We came here two years ago and liked the place, and decided to drop in on our way home.

On the road, we were treated to splendid panoramas of the "real" Tuscany - with its low rolling hills and large farms - so different from what we are used to in  the Garfagnana
