We came, we saw - but did not attempt to conquer ...

A couple of weeks ago we went up to beyond the hill village of Coreglia to the rifugio of Crocialetto in the foothills of the Appenines and had a bit of a walk. Yesterday we went a bit further on the track which would, if we were energetic, take us up to the top of Monte Rondinaio.  A couple of years ago, we climbed to the top of the nighbouring peak of Monte Giovo.  We were a bit late starting this time, daylight is at its shortest now.

The Serchio valley seen from above Coreglia - wide and populous
Beech trees against the sky
Bill, with Monte Rondinaio behind
Beech trees right to the top of the foothills
The selfie stick swings into action ...
On the way back, Coreglia with Monte Rondinaio behind
Back home, contrails produce a geometrical sunset
